PITTSBURGH, PA – After two years on the run, an arson suspect has been taken into custody, according to Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus. Stephen Crow, 43 and currently homeless, had been charged in July 2021 with felony arson. His charges are linked to a fire from August 2020 that saw a dumpster on 7th Street off of Penn Avenue entirely consumed by flames.

Firefighters managed to put out the fire before it could spread to a nearby commercial building.

Following his initial arrest, Crow managed to post 10% of his $5,000 bail and subsequently failed to appear at a formal arraignment in August 2021, leading Judge Rangos to issue a bench warrant.

Detectives located Crow on the North Side this week, specifically in the 900 block of James Street. Crow was taken into custody without incident and was transported to the Allegheny County Jail.
