Five shot in Drive-by After Funeral in Bladensburg

BLADENSBURG, MD – A shooting in broad daylight wounded five individuals as they were leaving a cemetery after a funeral in Bladensburg.

The Bladensburg Police Department reports that an individual opened fire on their car from a second vehicle. No arrests have been made as of yet.

All victims were transported to local hospitals. Police Chief Tyrone Collington Sr. disclosed that the victims’ car did not return fire.

No motive has been established and Collington stated that the police were working on gathering surveillance footage and other evidence.

A dark-colored vehicle is linked to the incident. The Bladensburg Police Department, together with the Edmonston Police Department, is asking witnesses to come forward.

Police quickly arrived on scene and began treating victims until Emergency Medical Services arrived.
