CAPE COD, MA – There’s a 9-foot-long, 425-pound great white shark circling Cape Cod Bay. Anne Bonny, a female shark, has been calling Cape Cod Bay home for several weeks.

Tracked by Ocearch, a marine mammal tracking organization, Anne Bonny arrived in Cape Cod Bay on July 2nd and has remained there since.

During her nearly three-week visit, she has surfaced near Barnstable Harbor and off the coast near Dennis, but for the most part, has stayed deep in the bay.

It looked like she was ready to leave the area on July 23rd as she began heading north, but surfaced back in the bay at around 11 am on Monday just west of Race Point Light.

There have been no incidents involving her extended stay, but boaters and swimmers are urged to keep an eye out.
