Man, Woman Shot at During Robbery on 5th Street

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Late on the night of Monday, a man and woman fell victim to an armed robbery and subsequent shooting incident on the 4XX block of North 5th Street.

The Philadelphia Police Department’s Shooting Investigation Group reports that the incident happened at 2:17 a.m.

The victims, a 33-year-old Hispanic male and a 32-year-old Hispanic female, were accosted as they entered their Honda Accord. Two assailants, one armed, approached them, opened the passenger door, and demanded their personal belongings. In the ensuing struggle, the male victim was grazed in the left thigh by a bullet.

After the incident, the offenders made off with several of the victims’ personal belongings in a grey vehicle, heading eastbound on the 4XX block of Courtland Street. While the male victim refused medical treatment, the female was uninjured in the encounter. No arrests have been made at this point, and no weapon has been recovered from the scene.

The Shooting Investigation Group of the Philadelphia Police Department is actively pursuing this case. They encourage anyone with information about the incident to contact them, in order to assist in their ongoing investigation.
