JERSEY CITY, NJ – On Friday, Zamir Thomas, a 31-year-old Quality of Life Inspector from Jersey City, was arrested and charged by the Special Investigations Unit of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office following a theft investigation.
Thomas has been charged with one count of Theft by Deception, a third-degree crime, according to New Jersey statutes.
His arrest occurred at the Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus. He was later released on a summons pending his first court appearance, which is scheduled tentatively for Tuesday, August 8.
Investigative reports reveal that Thomas spent multiple hours at his Jersey City residence during his paid work hours as an inspector. This transgression resulted in the theft by deception charge.
