Newark Police Seek Public’s Help in Shooting Investigation

NEWARK, NJ – The Newark Public Safety Director, Fritz Fragé, is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a shooting incident that took place on Thursday, July 14.

At approximately 5:15 p.m., police responded to an incident in the 1000 block of South Orange Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound and immediately rendered aid.

The victim was taken to University Hospital and is reportedly in stable condition.

The suspect remains at large, and Director Fragé is urging anyone with information about the incident to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line.
