Three Teens Charged for Armed Robbery and Carjacking

SILVER SPRING, MD – Three teenagers, aged 13, 16, and 17, have been apprehended and charged for an armed carjacking and robbery incident that took place on Wednesday, June 21.

Initial investigation by the Silver Spring Police Department’s detectives unveiled that the adult victim was trailed by a Black Jeep Grand Cherokee. The suspects then blocked the victim’s car, demanded his property and fled the scene in both vehicles.

Upon arriving home, the victim was confronted by five to six male suspects clad in dark clothes and masks.

The suspects intimidated the victim with a firearm, robbed him, and left in his Black Infiniti FX35 and the Jeep. During the investigation, detectives identified three juveniles as culprits.

The 13-year-old offender has been charged and referred to the Department of Juvenile Services. The 16-year-old suspect, currently held in Washington, D.C for unrelated charges, has been arrested and charged as an adult with armed carjacking and armed robbery.
