Asian Man Attacked by Man Shouting Slurs on NYC Subway Train

QUEENS, NY – The New York City Police Department’s Hate Crime Task Force is investigating an assault that occurred on a northbound “7” train at Elmhurst Avenue and Roosevelt Avenue subway station on Sunday, July 30.

A 28-year-old male was struck in the face by an unidentified male during a verbal altercation.

The assailant made Anti-Ethnic statements before fleeing the scene.

The victim was transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst in stable condition.

The assailant is described as a male, dark complexion, approximately 35 to 40 years of age, medium build, and black hair. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie sweater and gray sweat pants.
