33-Year-Old Dead In D.C. Shooting

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A Saturday night homicide on the 1500 block of Kenilworth Avenue in Northeast, D.C. is under investigation by detectives from the Metro Police Department’s Homicide Branch. Two men were shot late Saturday night at the BP Gas Station, leaving one man dead and one critically injured.

Officers arrived at the scene at 10:44 pm after a shooting report. Two adult males were found shot; one was declared dead by DC Fire and Emergency Services. The other was rushed to a hospital with critical injuries.

 33-year-old Brent Hayward of Gainesville, Virginia, was identified as the victim.
