Prison Inmate Escapes Custody in Maryland

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD – At approximately 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, authorities were alerted to the escape of an inmate from a Department of Corrections transport van near the intersection of Dorsey Run Road and 32.

The inmate, identified as Randy Morris, 38, had been incarcerated on burglary charges. Morris is described as a white male, standing five feet nine inches tall, weighing between 130-140 pounds, bald, and sporting a beard. He was last spotted in a white shirt and blue shorts and is no longer restrained with handcuffs or shackles.

Police departments from neighboring areas, including Anne Arundel County Police Department and Howard County Police, are assisting the Maryland State Police in their search using both foot patrols and drone surveillance.

Members of the public are urged to dial 911 immediately if they spot Morris.
