UTICA, NY – On Wednesday, Utica Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Oswego St following a menacing report.

Upon their arrival, officers found a victim who alleged they had a knife pressed to their throat. Preliminary investigations revealed that while traveling in a vehicle, an argument broke out between the victim and the suspect, Michael Marocco, 42, of Utica.

Marocco became agitated over various issues, including the victim not providing sufficient funds for narcotics. The situation escalated, and Marocco brandished a folding knife, threatening the victim with it. The victim managed to escape the car and alert the police.

Following their arrival, officers located and detained Marocco without any issues. He was found to be in possession of a knife.

Marocco has been charged with Menacing in the first degree, considering a previous menacing conviction within the last decade.
