SCHENECTADY, NY – On Sunday, the Schenectady Police Department reported three suspected fatal overdoses in the Hamilton Hill/Vale region of the city.
Officers responded to the first incident on Sunday, with two more cases emerging on Tuesday morning. The incidents involved both injectable and smoked substances.
To combat this trend, the department provided a list of community-based resources for those struggling with substance use disorder.
Among the key resources available are Catholic Charities/Project Safe Point, Alliance for Positive Health, New Choices, Conifer Park, SPARC Inpatient Rehab, and the SPARC Rotterdam clinic.
The services they offer range from harm reduction and overdose prevention to treatment readiness, HIV and Hepatitis C screening, syringe exchange, and medication-assisted treatment.
The Office of Community Services and Public Health is also available to offer support during these challenging times.
