Suspect Arrested in Deadly Queens Shooting

NEW YORK CITY, NY – An arrest has been made in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred on Saturday. At approximately 4:19 am, officers responded to a 911 call reporting a male shot at 101-12 125 Street.

Upon arrival, they found a 31-year-old male, later identified as Treva Sookmangal of Queens, with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Shawn Singh, a 23-year-old male from Schenectady, NY, was arrested on Sunday, at 2:30 am. He has been charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon. Singh is currently in custody and the investigation is ongoing.

The department is continuing its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Anyone with additional information is asked to come forward.
