Collyer’s Overtime Run Seals Holmdel Win Over St. John Vianney

HOLMDEL, NJ – A 9-yard overtime run by Gary Collyer delivered a 20-14 win for Holmdel against St. John Vianney on Friday night, extending Holmdel’s perfect season record to 2-0.

Holmdel quarterback Jack Cannon completed 6 out of 10 passes for 85 yards. Running back Anthony Setteducate led the rushing game with 100 yards. On the defensive side, Connor Fields tallied 13 tackles, and Alex Reyes added two sacks.

St. John Vianney remains winless, with a 0-3 record. Their offense struggled, recording zero passing yards for the game.

The scoring opened with a 1-yard run from Matt Iulo for Holmdel. St. John Vianney responded with two touchdowns by Luca Minardo, but failed to score in the second half or overtime. A 21-yard run by Jack Cannon in the fourth quarter tied the game, pushing it into overtime where Collyer’s run clinched the win for Holmdel.

The win bolsters Holmdel’s strong start to the season, while St. John Vianney searches for answers in their next matchups.
