BROOKLYN, NY – A 64-year-old man has been arraigned on murder charges for the 2020 killing of 23-year-old Nicholas Isaac outside a Crown Heights bike and scooter shop, following extradition from Ohio.
Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez announced today that Robert Bryson, formerly a resident of Brooklyn, was arraigned before Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Elizabeth Warin. Bryson is charged with one count of second-degree murder and two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He is held without bail and will return to court on October 27. If convicted of the top count, Bryson faces a prison sentence of up to 25 years to life.
According to the District Attorney, the incident took place on July 18, 2020, around 3 p.m. Both Isaac and Bryson were outside a bike and scooter shop located at 662 Nostrand Avenue when an argument ensued. Bryson is alleged to have returned an hour later, gun in hand, and shot Isaac multiple times both outside and inside the store.
Isaac was taken to Kings County Hospital where he underwent surgery but was later pronounced dead.
Bryson was arrested in Cleveland, Ohio, on August 22 by the Northern Ohio Fugitive Task Force of the U.S. Marshals Service. He was extradited to Brooklyn this week.
