Teen Arrested In Mother’s Day Killing Of 10-Year-Old Girl

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Detectives from the Washington, D.C. Homicide Branch have successfully apprehended a suspect linked to the tragic Mother’s Day shooting that resulted in the loss of a 10-year-old girl’s life.

Shortly after 9 p.m. on May 14th, officers responded to reports of gunshots at the 3700 block of Hayes Street in Northeast D.C. Upon their arrival at the scene, they discovered evidence of a recent shooting. Shortly thereafter, 10-year-old Arianna Davis, a resident of Northeast D.C., was taken to a DC Fire and EMS station due to gunshot injuries. She was taken to a nearby hospital, where tragically, she passed away on May 17th.

The subsequent investigation unveiled that Arianna was an innocent passenger, simply enjoying a car ride with her family when a stray bullet struck her. The incident prompted residents to unite and provide invaluable tips and video evidence to assist law enforcement.

19-year-old Koran Gregory, a Southeast D.C. resident, was apprehended yesterday and formally charged with First-Degree Murder while Armed in connection with the shooting. However, the Metropolitan Police Department remains actively engaged in the search for other individuals believed to be involved in this tragic event.
