Dundalk Cold Case Reopened: 1989 Fatal Stabbing of Teresa Schmansky Still Unsolved

DUNDALK, MD – Baltimore County Police are seeking public assistance in the 1989 cold case of Teresa “Terry” Schmansky, who was found fatally stabbed in her residence on Holabird Avenue in Dundalk. Mrs. Schmansky lived at the location with her three children, who were not present at the time of the homicide.

Investigators believe Terry, whose maiden name was Burkholder, may have been acquainted with the individual or individuals responsible for her death. Despite a thorough investigation by Baltimore County Police homicide detectives, no information leading to the positive identification of any suspects has been developed.

The police urge anyone with information to contribute through the Baltimore County Police Department iWATCH program or Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
