PITTSBURGH, PA — A tip regarding the whereabouts of a child endangerment suspect resulted in the arrest of several sex offenders, announced Allegheny County Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus.

Detectives received information Monday night about 34-year-old Joseph Neidermeyer, wanted by Ohio Township Police for endangering the welfare of children and simple assault. Neidermeyer was reportedly staying in a motel on Route 60. Although initially eluding authorities at the motel, he was found shortly after at a business on the same route.

Neidermeyer was in the company of Lee Chew, a registered sex offender who had recently absconded from the Renewal Center. Both men were taken into custody, and a detainer had been issued for Chew by state parole.

Further investigation led detectives to discover two more sex offenders, Amber Avery and Anthony Ditton, who had also left the Renewal Center without permission. All four individuals were arrested without incident. Chew, Avery, and Ditton were charged with failure to register under Megan’s Law.

In a separate event, detectives arrested Chad Coyne on Monday night in Glassport for probation violation. Coyne is also a registered sex offender.
