NEW YORK, NY — A Manhattan federal court grand jury has returned a Superseding Indictment against Darius A. Paduch, charging the New York-area urologist with a total of 13 counts related to the sexual abuse of eight patients, six of whom were minors. Paduch was arrested on April 11 after an earlier indictment was unsealed. He remains detained on federal charges and is scheduled to stand trial on April 22, 2024. The case is assigned to U.S. District Judge Ronnie Abrams.

U.S. Attorney Damian Williams stated that Paduch purported to provide medical care but violated patients to satisfy his sexual desires.

The abuse took place over several years and extended beyond the clinical setting.

The Superseding Indictment outlines that Paduch conducted inappropriate examinations while employed by a prestigious New York medical institution.

From 2007 to 2019, Paduch induced victims to travel to his offices, where he engaged in sexual abuse. The indictment also alleges that Paduch continued to abuse patients after moving to a different hospital in Long Island, New York.

Paduch manipulated his position and authority to induce six victims to travel to New York from other states for unlawful sexual activities. One victim was also induced to travel from New York to another state. Paduch used means of interstate commerce, including telephone communications, to facilitate the abuse of six minor victims.
