McKEESPORT, PA – A security incident occurred at McKeesport Area High School on Tuesday morning.
Reports suggest that a student entered the educational institution with a handgun just after 8 a.m.
A security guard checked the student’s bag, leading to the discovery of the firearm. The weapon was immediately secured and handed over to the district police and administration.
The district, through a Facebook post, assured that the student was intercepted at the security checkpoint and no staff or students faced immediate danger.
Adhering to the district’s disciplinary policy and procedures, necessary actions will be taken. The McKeesport Police are actively investigating the incident.
