Bridgeton Township Man Arrested for Stabbing Death in Trenton

MERCER COUNTY, NJ – An investigation led by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department has culminated in the arrest of James B. Draper, a 46-year-old man from Bridgeton Township.

Draper faces charges of first-degree murder and three weapons offenses, including being a person not authorized to possess a weapon. The arrest took place in Bridgeton on Wednesday.

On Friday, October 19, at roughly 9 p.m., Trenton police officers were dispatched to the intersection of Cross Street and Kersey Alley.

They found Corey Jones, a 40-year-old Trenton resident, with multiple stab wounds. Jones was subsequently transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office plans to motion for Draper’s detention until his trial.
