Deadly Shooting Reported Near Two Schools in Hillsborough County

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at the intersection of Rideout Road and South 78th Street.

Following the incident, Clair Mel Elementary School and Dowdell Middle School were placed under lock-in as a safety measure.

The Public Affairs Office will provide all future updates regarding this ongoing investigation. Details about the incident, including the identity of the victim or potential suspects, have not been released at this time.
