Five Injured in School Bus Crash on Garden State Parkway

WARETOWN, NJ – A collision on the Garden State Parkway involving a school bus and a Lexus resulted in minor injuries to five individuals Tuesday afternoon, according to New Jersey State Police.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:09 p.m. near milepost 69.1 in Waretown. The crash, involving the school bus and a Lexus in the southbound lanes, led to the school bus overturning in the left lane and the Lexus veering off the road, ascending an embankment.

Detective Jeffrey Lebron reported that the bus driver, a school aide, and three students on board the bus were injured. They received medical attention at a local hospital for minor injuries. No additional injuries were reported at the scene.

Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. As of now, further details regarding the cause of the collision or potential charges have not been disclosed.
