Two Students Charged for Theft of Dozens of Computers at Newark High School

by Adam Devine

NEWARK, DE – In early October, Newark High School reported the theft of approximately two dozen computers from an unlocked classroom.

A school resource officer initiated the investigation, which included reviewing surveillance footage and conducting interviews.

Two students, aged 14 and 15, from Wilmington, were identified as suspects.

The majority of the stolen computers were recovered by Newark Police and school staff. In late November, the suspects turned themselves in to the Newark Police.

They face charges of theft over $1,500 and conspiracy second degree. Both were released on unsecured bail and are scheduled to appear in Family Court at a later date.
