Pedestrian Struck and Killed on Route 35in Aberdeen Township

ABERDEEN TOWNSHIP, NJ — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Aberdeen Township, an incident currently under active investigation, announced Monmouth County First Assistant Prosecutor Julia Alonso.

The event occurred shortly after 11:15 PM on Monday, December 11. Aberdeen Township Police Department officers responded to the northbound lanes of State Route 35, between Prospect Avenue and Amboy Road. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult male resident of Aberdeen, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver involved in the incident, an adult female operating a 2017 Hyundai Sonata, stayed at the location following the accident.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART), and Aberdeen Township Police Department are collaboratively investigating this case.
