New Jersey Man Pleads Guilty to Drug-Induced Death

MERCER COUNTY, NJ – Lamar Daniel Campbell, a 44-year-old resident of Trenton, New Jersey, has pled guilty to charges related to a drug-induced death in Morrisville in 2019.

On December 8, Campbell accepted guilt for strict liability for drug-induced death, possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, and resisting arrest.

Campbell was sentenced to seven years in state prison and five years of probation. He was initially charged in December 2019 in Bucks County for providing a heroin/fentanyl mix to Joseph Prieth, 40, which led to Prieth’s overdose death in June 2019.

The case, initially handled by the Bucks County Detectives Drug Strike Force, was later taken over by the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office.

This followed after the Morrisville Police Department found Prieth deceased from an overdose in his apartment in June 2019. The investigation led to identifying Campbell as the drug supplier through text messages and controlled drug purchases.
