ANNAPOLIS, MD – A shooting incident was reported on Tuesday, at around 2:04 a.m. on the 1100 block of Frederick Douglass Street, Annapolis.

An officer, initially stationed at Harbor House without evidence of a shooting, responded to the scene.

Officers found an adult male with a gunshot wound to his upper leg. Initially, the victim alleged that he was shot by an unknown individual on the 900 block of President Street.

However, further investigation indicated that the wound was self-inflicted due to negligent handling of a handgun by the victim himself.

The victim was transported to a hospital and is in stable condition. The Annapolis Police Department is handling the ongoing investigation.
