Teen Shot Near Lincoln Center, Expected to Survive

NEW YORK, NY – A 15-year-old boy was shot outside the Amsterdam Houses near Lincoln Center on Thursday evening, according to the New York Police Department.

The incident occurred at W. 62nd St. near Amsterdam Ave. just after 7:20 p.m.

The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the torso and a graze wound to the chest. He was promptly transported to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. His condition is stable, and he is expected to survive.

As of now, the shooter remains at large, with the NYPD actively pursuing leads to apprehend the individual responsible. Witnesses reported hearing two gunshots in the area.

The shooting incident took place in close proximity to the Metropolitan Opera House at Lincoln Center, a notable contrast to the typically peaceful neighborhood. The New York Police Department is requesting anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.
