Felton Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Dover Man on Felony Weapon Charge

FELTON, DE – The Delaware State Police have apprehended 30-year-old Anthony Ford of Dover, Delaware, on a felony weapon charge following a routine traffic stop.

The incident took place on December 21, at around 11:00 a.m. While patrolling the South Dupont Highway and Midstate Road area in Felton, members of the Kent County Governor’s Task Force noticed a blue Honda Accord with Delaware temporary registration displaying an equipment violation. Upon initiating a traffic stop, detectives engaged with the driver and the front passenger, identified as Anthony Ford. Detectives from previous investigations recognized Ford.

A computer check revealed multiple outstanding warrants (capiases) for Ford’s arrest. During his arrest, detectives found a large knife and a BB gun concealed under Ford’s jacket.
