Brooklyn Girl Attacked, NYPD Investigating as Hate Crime

NEW YORK, NY – A 15-year-old girl was the victim of a bias attack on Tuesday, December 19, near 7919 New Utrecht Avenue, Brooklyn, as reported to the police.

At around 1:50 PM, the young victim was walking when an unidentified individual, described as a female with a light complexion, around 40 years of age, approached her.

The assailant made anti-ethnic remarks and then assaulted the teenager with pepper spray. Following the attack, the suspect fled on foot. Emergency Medical Services arrived at the scene, but the victim declined medical attention. The suspect was last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and carrying a blue backpack.

The NYPD is seeking information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts.
