Woman Offered Carjacker All of Her Money to Keep Car; He Pointed Gun and Sped Off

GREENBELT, MD – A carjacking occurred on Ridge Road Court in Greenbelt, where a suspect attempted to steal a white Toyota Corolla. The police responded to the scene after receiving a report from the victim, a newspaper delivery person.

The incident unfolded as the victim completed her newspaper deliveries. She noticed a male suspect in his early 20s struggling to reverse her vehicle, a 2023 Toyota Corolla with Maryland registration 9FH9232. When she confronted the suspect and offered money to prevent the theft, he brandished what seemed to be a firearm and fled the scene in the vehicle, heading towards Crescent Road.

Greenbelt Police conducted a search in the vicinity but did not locate the suspect. The victim, fortunately, did not suffer any injuries in the altercation. The investigation into the carjacking continues as authorities seek further information.
