High-Speed Chase and Assault on State Troopers Leads to Charges Against New York Man

by Leo Canega

MCKEAN COUNTY, PA – On Tuesday, District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer reported that Patrick Fuhr from Ellicottville, NY, has been charged with multiple offenses, including Aggravated Assault and Fleeing Police, after a high-speed chase and assaulting Pennsylvania State Troopers.

Early in the morning, Pennsylvania State Troopers attempted to stop Fuhr’s vehicle. Ignoring the troopers’ lights and sirens, Fuhr sped into the Valu Home Center parking lot in McKean County.

Exiting the lot, he rammed a State Police vehicle, causing significant damage, and continued the pursuit at speeds around 120 mph. The chase extended into New York, where the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Department deployed spike strips, eventually leading to Fuhr’s apprehension.

Filed by Trooper Bradley Walters of the Pennsylvania State Police-Lewis Run barracks, the complaint details Fuhr’s actions, including overtaking other motorists and endangering lives.

He is currently detained by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Department, with an arrest warrant issued by Magisterial District Judge Richard Luther for the Pennsylvania charges.
