MINEOLA, N.Y. – Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly announced that Thomas Saxton, 36, of East Rockaway, pleaded guilty to Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree on Wednesday.
The guilty plea is in response to a 31-count indictment, with sentencing scheduled for January 18, where Saxton is expected to receive a seven-year prison sentence.
The case began when Saxton threatened his wife at Cohen Children’s Hospital Center in Queens, leading to the discovery of an arsenal of illegal weapons, including ghost guns and assault rifles, in his home.
The Nassau County Police Department found seven loaded ghost guns, two assault rifles, numerous high-capacity magazines, ammunition, and ghost gun parts at Saxton’s residence.
Saxton had previously pleaded guilty in a related Queens case to Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree on October 27, 2023. He is due for another court appearance in Queens on Friday.
