Tullytown Man Pleads Guilty to Involuntary Manslaughter

by Leo Canega

TULLYTOWN, PA – On Monday, Steven Frederick Yard Jr., a 32-year-old Tullytown resident, pleaded guilty to charges related to a fatal drug overdose incident.

He admitted to involuntary manslaughter, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, and other charges before Common Pleas Judge Gary B. Gilman.

The incident dates back to November 16, 2021, when Falls Township Police responded to an overdose at a residence on Yardley Avenue.

They found Mary Coyle, 39, deceased and Steven Yard overdosing in the same room. Investigations revealed Yard had purchased heroin from Philadelphia and used it with Coyle, leading to her death from acute fentanyl intoxication.

Police found evidence of drug use and sales at the scene, including heroin/fentanyl in wax paper bags and a dollar bill with traces of cocaine. Yard’s sentencing has been deferred to a later date.
