Shooting Leads to Arrest in Cumberland

CUMBERLAND, MARYLAND – Cumberland City Police were called to the 300 block of Frederick Street yesterday following multiple reports of gunfire. Witnesses on the scene informed the officers that several individuals were seen exchanging gunshots in a nearby alley before fleeing on foot.

Police conducted a thorough search of the area and confirmed evidence of the shooting. Shortly thereafter, they spotted a male running from the vicinity. After a short chase, the individual was apprehended and found to be carrying live ammunition. He was arrested and taken to Police Headquarters.

The suspect’s identity has not yet been released as the investigation is ongoing, with additional charges expected.
