Silver Spring, MD – A fortunate Maryland Lottery player has struck it rich, winning a second-tier Cash4Life prize of $1,000 a week for life. The winning ticket was sold at Giant #135, located at 3860 International Drive in Silver Spring, for the drawing held on February 8, 2024.

This marks the first time in 2024 that a Maryland player has won the second-tier Cash4Life prize, and the ninth occurrence since the game was introduced in the state in 2016. The winning ticket matched the first five numbers of the draw – 5, 10, 25, 38, and 57, missing only the Cash Ball number, which was 4.

The lucky winner now faces a choice between receiving $1,000 every week for life, with an annual payout of $52,000, or opting for a one-time cash option of $1 million (before taxes).

Giant #135 will be awarded a $2,500 bonus from the Maryland Lottery for selling the winning ticket. Additionally, the February 8 drawing saw 4,097 Marylanders win prizes ranging from $2 upwards.

Lottery officials remind winners to sign the back of their tickets, store them securely, and claim their prizes within 182 days from the drawing date. Detailed instructions for claiming prizes, either in person or by mail, are available online, with prizes over $25,000 required to be claimed at the Lottery headquarters in Baltimore or by mail. Appointments at the Lottery’s Claims Center are necessary and can be scheduled online.
