Dispute Over Debt Leads to Front Yard Brawl in Toms River

by Charlie Dwyer

TOMS RIVER, NJ – One man was arrested after a dispute over allegedly owed money in Toms River ended in a front yard brawl and a police response.

According to a police report, Robert Grady and Emanuel Napoles were involved in a physical confrontation at Grady’s residence on Fawn Drive, stemming from a dispute over an alleged debt. The incident began when Grady visited Napoles at his Bay Avenue home, demanding repayment.

The situation escalated when Napoles followed Grady back to his residence, where a fight broke out in the front yard after Napoles forced his way through the front door. Despite the severity of the confrontation, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office (OCPO), following consultation with Assistant Prosecutor Lento, determined the incident does not qualify as second-degree burglary.

He was charged with simple assault, according to police.
