Do You Know Him? Newark Police Request Help to Identify Burglary Suspect

NEWARK, NJ – The Newark Public Safety Department, led by Director Fritz G. Fragé, is seeking the community’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a recent business burglary. The incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at the Pool Bar located on the 100 block of Elm Street.

According to the police report, at around 3:55 a.m., a male suspect was captured on surveillance footage as he forcefully opened the sidewalk cellar door to gain entry into the establishment. Once inside, the individual proceeded to a back room, where he broke into a lock box and stole an amount ranging between $300 to $400. The suspect was last seen heading westbound on Elm Street.

The Newark Police Department has released a description of the suspect as a Hispanic male, clad in a blue jacket, a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and white sneakers, topped with a black hat. Authorities are urging anyone with information on the identity of this individual to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
