Man Arrested After Threatening to Burn Down Church

CUMBERLAND, MD – The Cumberland City Police arrested 48-year-old Christopher Scott Moss on Sunday, March 24, following allegations of making threatening phone calls to a local church. The incident, which occurred on March 17, prompted an active arrest warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court against Moss.

Moss is accused of making multiple calls to the church, during which he allegedly threatened to damage the property and made threats of arson. Following his arrest, Moss was presented before a District Court Commissioner for his initial appearance. He has been remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center and is currently being held without bond.
