Vehicle Fire on Route 9 in Stafford Township Causes Temporary Traffic Closure

Stafford Township, NJ — A vehicle fire on Route 9 North, near Beachview Avenue, prompted a swift response from Stafford Township Police and Fire Departments on the evening of February 28. The incident, reported at around 9:30 PM, involved a silver BMW sedan found fully engulfed in flames on the shoulder of the road.

The driver, who had safely exited the vehicle before the arrival of emergency services, reported no injuries. He recounted noticing smoke from the engine compartment while driving, leading him to pull over and discover the engine fire upon opening the hood. The Stafford Township Fire Department successfully extinguished the blaze.

Traffic on Route 9 was temporarily halted between Beachview and Silo Road for about an hour as firefighters worked to control the fire, causing minor disruptions.
