Baltimore novice bags $50,000 in surprise lottery win

by Local News Report

On Wednesday, a Baltimore resident purchased her first Powerball ticket at the Royal Farms store on O’Donnell Street and hit the jackpot by winning a $50,000 third-tier prize. The novice player, accompanied by her sisters who often fantasized about lottery wins, decided to try her luck on April 10, securing two Mega Millions quick-pick tickets and a $4 Powerball quick-pick ticket.

A week after the purchase, amidst cleaning her bag, she stumbled upon the winning ticket, leading her to learn about the prize through the Maryland Lottery app.

After confirming her win of $50,000 with a sister, the elated winner, a mother and educator, shared the news with her husband, planning to use the money for a family vacation, home repairs, and children’s savings.
