11-Week-Old Puppy Taken in D.C. Burglary

WASHINGTON, DC – The D.C. Metro Police Department is calling for public assistance to recover a puppy abducted during a home burglary last Thursday night. The theft occurred between 8:30 PM and 10:30 PM at a home located on the 4800 block of Illinois Avenue, Northwest.

A suspect invaded the residence, stealing various items along with an 11-week-old puppy named “Smoke,” who is a mix of American Bulldog and Mastiff breeds.

Authorities urge anyone with information about the burglary or the whereabouts of the puppy to contact the police at (202) 727-9099 or to text their tip to the department’s text tip line at 50411. A reward of up to $1,000 is available for tips that lead to an arrest and indictment in this case.
