On Monday morning, a Baltimore County man expressed an unusual sense of happiness that he couldn’t quite explain to Lottery officials. This elation, he noted, was above his usual joyful demeanor, which he attributed to having the day off. It wasn’t long before he discovered the source of this unexpected joy in a Diamond Bingo scratch-off ticket.
A bartender and Lottery enthusiast, the lucky winner stopped by a Quick Mart convenience store in Windsor Mill while running errands. Although he usually purchased tickets daily, he initially bypassed the Diamond Bingo game, opting for another scratch-off that had previously brought him luck. After realizing his streak had ended with the alternative ticket, he decided to give Diamond Bingo a try.
Upon scratching the ticket, he thought he had won the $30,000 top prize but doubted his eyes.
After multiple scans with the ticket checker, each displaying the same amount, he sought validation from the cashier. Receiving confirmation of his win, the elated bartender decided to use the money to pay off debt, invest, and increase his savings, while saving a little for more Lottery tickets as he finds joy in playing.
The Quick Mart store where the winning ticket was sold will also benefit from the win. The Baltimore County establishment, located at 7410 Windsor Mill Road, will receive a $300 bonus from the Lottery for the fortuitous sale.
