Schenectady Police Investigating Possible Child Luring Incident

SCHENECTADY, NY – On Monday morning, at 7:45 am, Schenectady Police Community Engagement Officers responded to a report from a student at Van Corlaer Elementary School. The student reported being approached by a male while in the vicinity. Feeling uncomfortable due to the questions asked by the male,

the student sought refuge within the school and promptly informed staff, who then contacted law enforcement.

Officers were able to locate the individual in question, and detectives from the department’s Youth Aid Bureau are currently speaking with him. There have been no additional reports of similar incidents, and the investigation remains active.
