Houston, TX – Henry David Cossette, 29, was sentenced to 45 years in prison for the 2022 murder of Sara Ann Goodwin, as announced by Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg. Cossette was held accountable for the brutal killing that occurred on Feb. 6, 2022, in Houston.
Prosecutors revealed that Cossette picked up Goodwin on the Bissonnet Track, a region known for prostitution, before murdering her by strangling and dismembering her. He attempted to conceal the crime by disposing of her remains in a rural area off Beltway 8, about 13 miles from his residence. The case was brought to light after a missing-person report was filed, and surveillance footage showed Goodwin getting into a vehicle before her demise. Cossette confessed to setting a fire and trying to take his own life, leading to the discovery of the crime.
