CHICAGO, IL—A 17-year-old male has been charged with a total of 27 felony counts related to a series of armed robberies and vehicular hijackings across Chicago. The juvenile was apprehended by the Robbery Task Force and the Vehicular Hijacking Task Force on May 21, 2024, in the 1100 block of S. Hamilton.

The charges include twenty-five counts of armed robbery and two counts of aggravated vehicular hijacking involving a firearm. The accused was involved in numerous incidents that occurred in late 2023, targeting various districts across the city. The crime spree involved multiple victims, ranging from a 19-year-old female to a 58-year-old male, across different neighborhoods indicating a widespread pattern of criminal activity.

The incidents detailed in the charges include:

  • Multiple armed robberies and vehicular hijackings between November 27 and December 31, impacting residents in the 14th, 15th, 25th, 12th, 1st, 11th, 16th, and 18th Districts.
  • Specific attacks on December 3, 4, 6, 12, 20, 24, and 30, highlighting a particularly violent month with victims often confronted violently and threatened with a firearm.
