LAUREL, DE — A homicide investigation is underway in Laurel following an early morning shooting at Little Creek Apartments that left one man dead and another injured. The incident occurred on June 3, 2024, around 1:22 a.m., prompting a rapid response from both the Laurel Police Department and the Delaware State Police.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a 23-year-old man behind the 400-building with multiple gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The identity of the deceased has not been released pending family notification. Additionally, a 26-year-old man later presented himself at the hospital with a gunshot wound which was determined to be non-life-threatening.
The scene revealed a chaotic situation with multiple shots fired, impacting not only the victims but also several vehicles and buildings. Given the complexity and severity of the incident, the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit has taken charge of the investigation.
Authorities are actively seeking information from the public to help identify and apprehend the suspect or suspects responsible.
