BRUNSWICK COUNTY, VA — A tragic incident occurred on Huckstep Road in Brunswick County at approximately 2:41 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024, resulting in the death of a Brodnax woman. The Virginia State Police are currently investigating the two-vehicle collision.
Jane M. King, 68, was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt eastbound when her vehicle crossed the centerline and collided with a 1972 Ford 5000 tractor that was in a driveway. Following the initial collision, the Cobalt veered off the left side of the road, striking a ditch and then a tree.
Ms. King was transported to a hospital in Richmond where she later died from her injuries. It was noted that she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. The driver of the tractor was not injured in the incident.
