UTICA, NY – Following a series of related shootings across Utica over the past weekend, local police have made a significant arrest. Units responded to multiple reports of gunfire at various locations, sparking a citywide investigation.

Investigators from the Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) Unit, aided by the Criminal Investigations Division, conducted area canvasses, reviewed surveillance footage, and held interviews. This led to the identification of two suspects involved in an incident on the 1500 block of Dudley Ave.

On June 11, a coordinated effort between GIVE investigators and the Crime Prevention Unit resulted in the arrest of a 13-year-old juvenile, who was found to have discharged a handgun during the incidents. The juvenile has been charged with reckless endangerment in the first degree, criminal possession of a firearm, and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.
