Man Pours Lighter Fluid on Woman and Threatens to Set Her on Fire in New York City

NEW YORK, NY—The New York City Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest related to an attempted arson within the 75th Precinct. The incident occurred near Linden Boulevard and Holly Street on a Tuesday afternoon.

At approximately 4:45 PM, an unidentified man entered a store and quickly became hostile. He threatened a 46-year-old female employee with a knife and expressed intent to harm her. Subsequently, he poured lighter fluid on the floor and attempted to ignite it, but failed. The suspect then escaped to an unknown location.

Fortunately, the incident did not result in any injuries. The police have released images of the suspect and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward to aid in their investigation.
